Plant construction

Plant construction involves the building of technical systems, in particular from the areas of processing technology, energy technology, utility technology and production technology for the chemical industry, the oil and gas industry, steel industry and electric utility operators. The complexity of such systems places large demands on the plant construction contracts.

We draft, negotiate and review facilities construction contracts and their allied subcontractor contracts and engineering agreements. We have many years of experience in power plant construction and hydraulic steelwork contracting. When structuring contracts we frequently have recourse to the FIDIC Silver Book and the facilities construction contract as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract or as an EPCM (engineering, procurement, construction and management) contract and, in the offshore area, as an EPCI (engineering, procurement, construction and installation) contract.

What all facilities construction contracts have in common is that the contractor provides his performance as a general contractor general entrepreneur and builds the facility or the structure within the contract term at a fixed price, turnkey ready.
